Design and this recession

I like this New York Times article about this because its interesting but what one forgets about interior design is that it takes time. In the depression, people didn't take take in to account what it costs to develop these items. So, in essence your value as an interior designer is nothing. You have bought all the materials, tried to craft something, making many models, tinkering and maybe a year (or maybe two), a your creation is final. Then you have to sell it. Does that mean you will re-coup your time and materials?

Nope!
